Dr Claire Price
BSc MSc PhD Mem.RESPost Doctoral Research Associate
Dr Claire Price completed a BSc in Life and Earth Sciences and a MSc in Plant Production Management at Avignon Université, France, and a PhD at Harper Adams investigating the potential of biopesticides to control the cabbage stem flea beetle (Psylliodes chrysocephala) in oilseed rape.
She is interested in entomology, arthropods conservation, and Integrated Pest Management. She particularly enjoys communicating research to fellow researchers, students, farmers, and members of the public through outreach activities and teaching. She also has experience identifying butterflies, moths, spiders, and ground beetles to species level.
Her current postdoctoral research project is WeevilWatch, looking at validating a smart monitoring tool for vine weevil control in ornamental nurseries.
She also helped create and is leading a support group for Harper Adams PhD students, which started in April 2024 and runs once a month.
Editorial work: Associate Editor for Antenna since August 2023 and for Approaches in Entomology since June 2026 (Royal Entomological Society); Editorial Advisor for Annals of Applied Biology since March 2025 (Association of Applied Biologists).
